Despite being an attractive guy Kendrick had a lousy love life. He blamed it on work but Riley thought he was keeping at arm’s length from a real relationship.

          Protecting the Blakes is a demanding job but I enjoy it. There’s never a dull moment, especially with the kids. It’s hard not to get swept up into their lives, they have a way of making you feel like family.  And not to toot my own horn but I am godfather to J.J. and Sam’s boys. The family has grown tremendously over the years and it takes a team of specialists under my supervision to make sure there is as much normalcy in their lives as possible while we stealthily do our jobs.

          One of the best days of my life was being partnered with Sam. She helps keep me focused and is often the voice of reason. I signed on with Regency after I was discharged from the military and it’s been a good fit for me. Serve and protect is encoded in my DNA. Being the boss is cool but I like being in the field. Sam says I take on too much and I need to learn to delegate but I like being in the middle of the action. That advice is also hilarious coming from her. She’s curbed her recklessness since getting married and having kids but Parker has taken her place with impulsive behavior. So I keep an eye on Parker even though she’s a private investigator in her own right.

          Being dedicated to my job leaves no room for dating seriously. Sure I’ve had my fun and it’s made for some great stories to tell, or not, depending on whose company I’m in. The Blake ladies have lovingly had me in their sights with their Cupid’s arrows for a while but I’ve managed to escape their matchmaking. I like keeping things light with a woman.  Attachments are something I avoid at all costs. Besides, the sometimes dangerous nature of my job has been a bone of contention in my past relationships.  

          I made my debut in The Perfect Storm as Sam’s partner. Since that time I’ve been in the background watching over my surrogate family to ensure everyone remains safe. I’m on my way to Tennessee after Seth’s induction ceremony. There’s been some strange charges on Tate’s accounts in Nashville and I want to check it out. Next up is my story, Love at Last. I have to admit, Logan finding love has given me a small sense of hope that maybe someday I’ll find the woman of my dreams. However, I need a woman who understands it’s not just a job. It’s who I am. But I’m not holding my breath that I’ll find someone who’ll understand that.
