Fall Food Rituals

I love the fall.  The cool weather is welcome after the grueling, humid summers on the east coast.  To usher in the new season and changing foliage, I like to try a new dish.  This tradition started a few years ago when my aunt asked me to make the broccoli-cheddar soup recipe she’d seen in a food magazine.  I saw this as a culinary challenge and I accepted it!  Cooking, much like writing, is about exploring the realms of creative possibilities.

I enjoy cooking with fresh vegetables and herbs.  Celery, carrots and onions are a holy trinity for most soup recipes and there is no smell that compares to the blending of fresh vegetables and herbs in a stock pot.

For the past three years, I have been making homemade soups like chicken noodle, split pea and broccoli-cheddar.  September is here, so I will begin my hunt for a new soup.  I create my own recipes or try a recipe of a chef I like.  Sometimes I borrow from a few recipes and add a little something of my own.

Recently, I’ve attempted to make an apple pie.  It’s pretty good for my first try at homemade pie, but it’s still a work in progress.  Lol.

What’s your fall food ritual?

What foods are appealing to you in autumn?

Happy Eating

The Blake Legacy

The Blake Legacy is complete!

The 3rd installment of Morgan and Seth’s love story has been written and sent to my publisher.  I have to say I had a fun time delving into their lives again! You will see new characters and well as some of your favorites like Tate, Michelle, Tyler and Charisma!

Next Project: Hollywood Rush

Hey Star Crossed fans!  Kate and Chris will have another adventure!  Hollywood Rush (working title) is in the works!  Finding love and saving Kate’s reputation was just the tip of the iceberg for these two.  As you may know, both Kate and Chris had major career changes in Star Crossed.

As I’ve mentioned before there is a Chris/Seth connection.  It was fun exploring that relationship in The Blake Legacy.  And if things couldn’t get any more interesting, Tate will be visiting Atlantis Records!  Seems he and Kate have met before…
