Texas Heat
I am in the thick of Texas Heat edits! I have been having a ball exploring the layers of Tate McGill. When I first announced Tate would have a story, I had no idea who his love interest would be. While talking to readers during The Blake Legacy release, a few of you commented that it would be great if Morgan had a cousin! She has plenty of cousins. Lol. Then one day Isabelle popped into my head.
So I’m writing Tate and Isabelle’s story and then it happened. They kindly told me to step out of the way while they continued the story. Lol. This occurred with Morgan and Seth while writing MVP. I love it when my characters grow up and tell me to take a hike. I can’t wait until May to show you how much fun I’ve been having with those two.
As promised, I posted a second excerpt of Texas Heat, but this time I wanted to highlight the dynamic of the men of this series. Sitting on Tate’s back porch, running their mouths seemed like a good idea.
The cover reveal should be coming in April and there will be more character profiles as I continue to create my encyclopedia for The Blake Boys Series.
Hollywood Rush
I am re-working Hollywood Rush, so please be patient! Kate and Chris will see the light of day. See My Writing Process for the reason why it hasn’t been set into motion yet.
My Writing Process
When I announced The Blake Boys Collection would be in print, I had to stop everything I was doing (re-working Hollywood Rush and outlining Love Notes and Football) and do my part. Which meant, re-reading For the Love of the Game, MVP and The Blake Legacy, which I enjoyed, and meeting a deadline with my publisher. Then I had to juggle Texas Heat edits as well.
I don’t know if it’s the Gemini in me but I love a challenge but not at the expense of sacrificing the work. When I announced my 2014 writing goals, I made a commitment to readers but slowing down the pace has allowed me burrow further down that rabbit hole and carve out the direction I am taking with The Blake Boys Series. MVP would have been totally different if I’d written it right after For the Love of the Game. The months provide growth for me as a writer. And interacting with readers about why they love certain aspects gives me great perspective.
I was thinking that maybe J.J.’s story will be the next to be told after Love Notes & and Football. What do you think? Let me know!
Social Media Rundown
I am still working on those playlists, so if you have a song that reminds you of one of the characters, drop me a line in my Author’s Mailbox, the tab set up on the blog. I will add it to the growing lists!
And of Course!
As always, thank you to the readers for reaching out! It’s great to talk to you. I have discovered The Blake Boys are taking their swagger on an international tour! In addition to the U.S., I have readers reaching out from the U.K., Canada and Australia.
I am designing some great swag for Texas Heat already! I have a promo t-shirt on my blog. Let’s see what else I can come with before the release…
See you May 2nd!
Happy Reading,
Rhonda

Hi Catina!
Thank you for dropping by!
J.J.’s life is going to change dramatically and I can’t wait to write about it. His story, being an ex-football player, strained marriage to Eden, there is a lot to be learned about him. We’ll get to see how he handles starting over.
